Welcome to the Chair of Law and Economics for Health and Risk Regulation
The Corona pandemic has heightened awareness of the need for protection against health risks. The central interface function of law became apparent. On the one hand, the law is shown to be an instrument through which health and risk regulation can be realized in the present and in the future. At the same time, however, the limiting function of law, which is a prerequisite for the legitimation of regulation, became clear. Future questions in the life sciences concerning food, nutrition and health will be decided by the legal rules of the present. The Chair of Law and Economics of Health and Risk Regulation deals with the legal issues, taking into account their economic contexts.
